14 England players 'affected by virus'

The virus has left 14 members of the England away team seriously ill.

The type of virus is unknown. Captain Ben Stokes is one of his injured players. The disease has hit the England test team, who are traveling to Pakistan for the first time in 17 years.

According to the Test Match Special, Harry Brook, Zach Crowley and Keaton who were on the scene before the first Test at Rawalpindi starting on December 1, Jennings, Ollie Pope and Joe Root are the only ones unaffected.

The start of the first test between Pakistan and England could be delayed after 14 members of the traveling party contracted the virus and did not attend today’s training session.

“PCB and ECB are in talks to start the first Pakistan vs England test as some England players contract the virus,” PCB tweeted.

The board said it was monitoring the situation and in communication with the ECB. It added that it will provide more updates in due course.
