By 8 runs, Pakistan Shaheens defeated Melbourne Renegades.

DARWIN – On Tuesday, during the Top End T20 Series, Pakistan Shaheens successfully batted down a modest goal of 94 by dismissing Melbourne Renegades for 85 in 19.4 overs.

The Pakistan Shaheens have now triumphed twice in as many days.

Ali Asfand, who allowed only eight runs and bowled 16 dots, and Arafat Minhas, who allowed 15 runs and bowled 15 dots, led Shaheens’ defence of a low score with three wickets apiece from their four overs.

Each of Ahmed Khan, Faisal Akram, and Sajjad Ali took a wicket. The highest score in the innings was 19 by Dylan Brasher off 20 balls.

Shaheens chose to bat and were knocked out for 93 in 18.5 overs.

Shawaiz Irfan led the team in scoring with a 32-ball 34 total that included two sixes and a four. Basit Ali and Faisal Akram tied for second place with scores of 13.

The best bowler was Ruwantha Kellapotha, who had three wickets for 15 runs.

Tom Rogers and Fergus O’Nell each secured two wickets.

The Shaheens’ following game takes place at the same location tomorrow against the Melbourne Stars. At 18:30 local time, the opening ball of the game will be bowled.
