News of changes to the marriage registration system broke on social media as the crisis-stricken nation approved a mini-budget with advanced taxes on wedding ceremonies.
According to unconfirmed posts that share news tickers, a cash-strapped nation has altered its marriage registration procedure after making adjustments to catch tax cheats and fugitives. It was stated that the groom would be given access to a special internet tab to confirm the information prior to the Nikah.
It further stated that tax cheats or fugitives would be imprisoned and the wedding would be called off.
In an interview with a local media source, a top official from the government and community development department refused making any adjustments. He clarified that marriage licenses are registered at the level of the union council, which makes absolutely no modifications.
