Famous actor Ismail Tala dies in Karachi

Veteran actor and comedian Ismail Tala died Thursday at the age of 73. He was known for his work in the classic film Fifty Fifty, which aired on his PTV in the 1980s.

Tara’s family said she had spent the past three days in a private hospital in Karachi, where she was being treated for kidney disease. Both cod kidneys were malfunctioning. Ahmed Shah, president of the Arts Council of Pakistan, said there is a long history with Tara.

“He won the hearts and minds of the Pakistani people with his performance,” he said, adding that Tara is unique in the world of comedians.
