The report states that the car’s safety ratings in various aspects are:

  • Adult Occupation 89D44
  • Child Occupation 87D44
  • Vulnerable Road User 82D44
  • Safety Assistant 83%

Other key improvements to the new Civic are the rear wheel arch frame, full width braces supporting the floor and resin bulkheads, i-Size European ISOFIX mounting points, hinged hoods with embossed membrane construction and additional front door stiffeners.

The Civic provided excellent protection for all critical body areas on the front offset and side barrier tests in both the 6-year dummies and the 10-year dummies, earning the highest scores in this part of the evaluation.

The Civic’s Autonomous Emergency Braking (AEB) system has shown good results in tests of its response to other vehicles. The front and rear seats are equipped with a seatbelt warning system as standard, but this car does not have a driver drowsiness detection system.
