Karachi bans bachat market

KARACHI: The district administration has banned weekly Bachat Bazar in West Karachi with immediate effect.
The Deputy Commissioner had earlier cancelled/withdrawn the NOC to establish weekly Bachat Market in West Karachi.

But many people continued to create Bachat Bazars even after the NOC was revoked.

These markets sell used goods, shoes, clothes, blankets, utensils, food, vegetables and fruits.

These makeshift stalls attract many customers due to their relatively cheaper prices.
“NOCS related to all Bachat Bazar organized in Western district has been cancelled/withdrawn.
But unfortunately, many Bachat Bazar were held on Wednesday,” read the letter sent by AC on behalf of DC to SSP Karachi West.
