Karachi now has affordable electric taxi service

The Sindh Minister of Information, Transport and Urban Transport, Mr Sharjeel Inam Memon, has announced that a modern, affordable and eco-friendly electric taxi service will soon start from Karachi.

The minister made the announcement at a meeting with media representatives after touring the Bus Rapid Transit Red Line project under construction, which was launched in cooperation with the Asian Development Bank.

He said a public transportation project has been launched in the city with billions of dollars of investment.

The Sindh Mass Transit Authority worked day and night to increase the number of buses in the city and improve the transport infrastructure.

He said work on the 22-kilometer BRT Red Line is progressing at a fast pace. Starting at Malir Halt, follow University Road and join the green line at Numaish Chowrangi.
