Faisal Akram assists Shaheens with getting first triumph against NT Strike

DARWIN – Another five-wicket pull from left-arm wrist spinner Faisal Akram assisted Pakistan Shaheens with beating A northern Area Strike by 84 runs at DXC Field on Wednesday night.

This was Shaheens’ keep going match on Australian soil before they get back.

Shaheens, before the two 50-over matches, showed up in six-group Top End Series, where they lost to NT Strike in the last at DXC Field on Sunday.

Pursuing 233 to win, NT Strike lost their initial hitters for only seven sudden spikes in demand for the board before Jason Sangha (34, 37b, 3x4s) and Coby Edmonstone (65, 98b, 6x4s, 1×6) added 79 runs for the third wicket.

Param Uppal (24, 27b, 3x4s) was the other prominent benefactor with the bat.

After the takeoff of Uppal, the hosts lost seven wickets for only 21 runs.

Faisal, who sacked five for 17 runs in the match against Papua New Guinea on Tuesday evening, stowed five wickets for 37 from 10 overs, which included 39 dab balls.

Prior, subsequent to selecting to bat first, Shaheens’ initial sets of Azan Awais (36, 38b, 2x4s) and Basit Ali (33, 35b, 5x4s) weaved a 53-run organization for the initial wicket.

After the takeoff of the pair with 87 sudden spikes in demand for the board, Shaheens were in a spot of trouble as they lost five wickets for 73 runs.

That the Shaheens figured out how to score 232 from 160 for seven was generally because of a 44-run organization between Ahmed Khan (39, 61b, 2x4s, 1×6) and Ali Asfand (42 not out, 42b, 5x4s) for the eighth wicket.

Shaheens were all out for 232 in 47.3 overs.

For NT Strike, Charlie Smith took four wickets for 31, while Jack Wood and Tom Menzies snatched two wickets each.

This was Shaheens’ most memorable success over NT Strike, after they neglected to overwhelm the hosts on two events in the as of late closed Top End T20 Series.
