The Federal government of Iraq and the authorities of the autonomous territory are close to reaching a necessary deal, according to sources cited by the Kurdish-led Rudaw radio, which suggests that oil shipments from Iraqi Kurdistan may begin on April 4.

According to a knowledgeable source, negotiations between the government and the autonomous authorities are underway, and the deal may be officially revealed early next week.

Both parties will be able to jointly oversee oil exports from Iraqi Kurdistan thanks to the deal.

Rudaw stated on Saturday that oil exports might start up again as early as Tuesday, April 4.
