Pakistan reached out to Russia on Saturday to procure cheap oil and gas. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Oil began correspondence with Russia by letter.
Pakistan has also committed not to violate international treaties in this regard when purchasing oil and gas. A Pakistani delegation is ready to visit Russia and meet on the issue if invited.
The Pakistani government has publicly lobbied Russian officials to buy cheaper oil and gas as the cost of these products skyrocket to record highs in the South Asian country.
The news comes a month after German Finance Minister Ishaq Dar said the government was considering the possibility of importing oil from Russia.
