Pakistan produces a record 20.75 million metric tons of wheat in 2023.

Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif expressed satisfaction over the unprecedented 20.75 million metric tons of wheat produced in the nation despite the previous year’s rains and floods during a meeting in Lahore on wheat procurement.

To guarantee farmers obtain all benefits, the prime minister gave the necessary orders to the federal and provincial departments to purchase wheat directly from farmers. He also underlined the importance of buying wheat in a timely manner and taking harsh action against hoarders.

In order to ensure a consistent supply of wheat throughout the year, the prime minister asked institutions to increase their objective for purchasing it and to get the required funding from banks.

According to Shehbaz Sharif, the administration is planning a strategy to increase the nation’s wheat production even more in the future year.
