Pakistan's first female architect receives prestigious award from King Charles

The Royal Institute of British Architects awarded the prize, one of the highest honors in the field. For her work on self-built, carbon-free housing for the homeless and her humanitarian efforts to help people affected by natural disasters and climate change, Prof. Lari was awarded the prize.

She is also credited with developing the Chulah Cookstove, an environmentally friendly alternative to traditional stoves that improves health outcomes and reduces pollution.The Heritage Foundation of Pakistan was co-founded by Prof. Lari, who has also built more than 50,000 ecologically friendly housing and shelter units for underserved communities.

She is the first Pakistani and only the second woman to ever get the honor. The king personally approves the awarding of the medal, which is granted to individuals who have made a major contribution to architecture.
