The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 and Galaxy Z Fold 5, which come with some significant upgrades, were recently announced by Samsung at its annual Galaxy Unpacked event, which just ended.
Galaxy Z Flip 5 from Samsung
Samsung has officially debuted the Galaxy Z Flip 5, which features significant upgrades like a much larger 3.4-inch cover display that runs from the device’s hinges to its dual cameras, after months of rumours and leaks.
The cover screen of the Galaxy Z Flip 5 can now run whole Android apps, a feature that was previously available on the Moto Razr Plus.
The improved Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 CPU and fully flat folding design have been added to the Galaxy Z Flip 5. The 6.7-inch OLED panel on the device’s internal screen, meanwhile, has not changed.
The price of the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5 will stay at $999 despite the enhancements.
Galaxy Z Fold 5 by Samsung
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 has less significant upgrades than the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 5, but it still has several enhancements. Similar to the Z Flip 5, the Z Fold 5 features an enhanced hinge that enables the tablet to hold flat when folded along with an upgraded Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 CPU.
When closed, the device measures 13.4mm (formerly 14.2mm), making it significantly slimmer than its prior version. Other improvements include increasing the screen’s brightness, which is now 1,750 nits.
The Galaxy Z Fold 5’s cost of $1,799 has not changed.
