
Imtiaz Ahmed Shaikh, Sindh’s energy minister, declared on Thursday that the province’s districts would all have solar panels installed as part of the Sindh Solar Project.
He said that as part of the provincial government’s major initiative to solve the energy problem, 200,000 units/houses would be solarized in the province’s rural and urban areas.
The choice was decided in this regard at a meeting with the World Bank delegation, which was led by the country director.
The energy minister stated that it was decided to offer a subsidy of $ 110 per unit/house in urban areas and $ 160 per unit/house in rural areas. Every area in the province will have solar plates installed with the help of the World Bank.
According to Sindh Energy Minister Imtiaz Shaikh, it was decided to offer 200,000 solar panels under the project at a discounted price during a meeting with a World Bank delegation.
