Twice in a Week, Oil and Gas Reserves are Found in the City of Sindh

The Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) made its second discovery in the district within a week on Thursday when it reported the discovery of oil and gas reserves from an exploratory well situated in District Sanghar, Sindh.

The deposits were discovered by the firm at a well-known Kot Nawab-1 in Sindh’s Sanghar.

Using the internal knowledge of OGDCL, Kot Nawab-1 was spudded on June 3, 2022, as an exploratory well, it stated.

Details indicate that the well was drilled to a depth of 3,000 meters. Using a choke size of 28/64″ and a well head flowing pressure of 150 pounds per square inch, Drill Stem Test-1 in the Basal Sand has tested 125 barrels of oil per day, 0.483 million standard cubic feet per day of gas, and 400 barrels of water per day.

The fact that this is the eleventh discovery made in the Sinjhoro Block demonstrates the joint venture’s dedication to “exploiting the hydrocarbon potential of the block and aggressive exploration approach,” according to the business.
