According to the Water & Power Development Authority (Wapda), middle and lower level management are not permitted to bring cellphones into the office due to the risk of important data being compromised.The Authority has decided that due to the present security situation and threat alerts, only officials with the rank of general manager and above will be able to carry smart phones (Android/iOS) inside office premises, according to a notification delivered on April 14 by the Wapda secretary.
The general manager (security) is in charge of making sure that the instructions are followed exactly as written. Staff members are not permitted to bring smartphones as of today (Monday).
The constant posting of official documents on social media has caught the attention of the authorities. All general managers have a duty to prevent further instances of the same behavior from occurring among the employees under their administrative authority. Legal action will be taken for any violation of the rules in accordance with applicable conduct and cyber laws.
